Metro Dodgeball Sunday leagues follow the World Dodgeball Federation foam dodgeball rulebook – last updated in 2017 – with a few alterations to benefit league play. Rulebook can be accessed by clicking on the WDBF logo below. Please see list of key differences:
- Match length is altered to accommodate available gym time and will be communicated at the beginning of each season
- Teams will switch sides of the court at half-time however, there will be no sudden death played at half
- Catches will not bring a dead player back into play during sudden death
- Unless assigned on the schedule, a referee will be provided by one of the competing teams while they are sitting out
- Players are allowed to raise their hand to retrieve a ball that is out of bounds assuming no shaggers are present and the player leaving the court does not interfere with game play
Other rules may be altered at the MDL board’s discretion but will be communicated to the league members as needed
